Art Trails

Art Trails are organised by Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios artists, and offer visitors the opportunity to make a day of their studio visits as well as explore the local area. There are 17 Art Trails to choose from this year and details and maps can be found below and from participating artist's studios.

Details Four current members of 'Breckland Artists'. A group originally set up by Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios' participants over 10 years. An art trail map will be available from each of the trail studios.

Cromer Art Trail

Details The Trail has a Taster Exhibition at the Garden House Gallery in the first week of May, and has partnered with six local venues to hold displays of work over the fortnight together with demonstrations at Cromer TIC and the Garden House. A trail map and leaflet will be available from all the studios involved as well as other venues in and around Cromer.

The Castle Acre Trail

Trail area: Castle Acre, West Acre, Newton-by-Castle Acre

Details One of the most interesting trails to visit. The Castle Acre Trail consistently offers the best to see in Norfolk arts and crafts. Set within the beautiful Nar Valley the trail provides the location and experience for the perfect day out. Walk from one village to another, making time to stop at either The Stag pub in West Acre or The Ostrich in Castle Acre. This walk is part of the Nar Valley Way, described as one of the best in Britain by the Readers Digest. It takes you through woodland, water meadow and into historic and medieval villages with castles and priories to explore, as well as the most exceptional art!

Hidden Treasures

Details A trail involving many different art forms, including sculpture, painting and papercutting. A trail map will be available at all the trail artists' studios. Each artist in the trail will have a letter which they will give to visitors. Once completed, the letters reveal a code word for a discount at www.paperstory.co.uk!

Arts Quarter Trail

Details A trail map will be available from each of the six venues. The map has a beautiful design for visitors to complete with the 17 artists' stickers that they can collect en route. Trailers can get a free tea or Americano coffee in the cafe North for each completed trail map.

Coast and Country Art Trail

Trail area: Hopton on Sea, Fritton and St Olaves

Dates Every weekend during open studios, including Bank Holiday Monday, 10am-5pm.

Details Approximately 15 miles round trip, around South Norfolk's country lanes and the coast road. Plenty of pubs and restaurants close by for lovely lunches if you want to make a day of it, plus a warm welcome at each venue. A trail map will be available from each of the participating studios, and an opportunity to take part in a raffle!

Details A warm welcome awaits you at the variety of participating studios, all within a 5 mile radius, and showing a wealth of different art and craft works, including sculpture, painting, prints, glass and textiles. The trail has a preview at North Walsham Library and the Vernon Arms. Those who leave their contact details at the studios will be entered into a prize draw for a meal at the Vernon Arms.
